"Les Mécanos du Ska " is the first album of the Dahus. Nine singles, four interludes and the tone is given from the very beginning of the CD : this is good ska music. There are very good songs like "melek ya watani tepki" or “les mécanos du ska" with tunes that link up thanks to the brass and the well present accordion. The song aspect is really nice thanks to the lyrics sung in French, Spanish and others...The only critic about this album is the sound lacking a bit of power and depth that sometimes weakens the songs. Apart from this technical detail, this album is really a success, somewhere between Rageous Gratoons and Ska-p (yes !) with really efficient compositions and tunes. A last word on the the CD sleeve which is also very nice."

If they claim their origins come from ska music too, the Dahus of Strasburg (whose album is called “Les Mécanos du Ska”) have mixed it with many other influences than just punk music and which are mambo, raï, salsa and folk music.
Those nine musicians who already played in different bands in the past, and among whom are four brass players giving this brass band aspect, are now forming a melting pot as cosmopolitan as the lyrics sung in Spanish, Arabic, French, Italian...which emphazise on dance, good mood and party."
